What is Program Service? |
| |
The Pennsylvania PTA offers Program Service through the PTA Speakers Bureau. This service is an opportunity for local units and councils to obtain, at no charge, speakers from the Board of Managers for general meetings, board meetings, Founders Day events, and leadership training sessions for your officers and chairmen.
Program Service is made available to outside organizations based on specific conditions determined by the state PTA. If you are not a PTA and are interested in hosting a PTA speaker, please contact the state PTA office at 717-564-8985.
All local units and councils are entitled to two programs each year. Requests for program service must be made by completing the "Request for State PTA Program Service" form at least sixty (60) days in advance of the date service is requested. Because of the work schedules of PTA presenters, an audience of 25 persons is expected when requesting a presenter from farther than two hours driving distance. The request form can be found in the Information Bulletin that each local unit and council president receives from the state PTA.
If you are interested in a particular topic, check with the state office for a member of the Board of Managers who has expertise in that area and is able to present that specific program. If you have a particular speaker from the board in mind, contact the speaker first, check his/her availability, then complete the request form indicating your choice and that person's confirmation of availability.
