NATIONAL PTA

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Each year the Reflections program provides opportunities for students to receive recognition for their artistic efforts and expressions.

There are 3 types of awards at the National level:

1.         National Outstanding Interpretation – one entry is selected from each art category is chosen from among all the Award of Excellence recipients.  The Outstanding Interpretation Awards recognizes the most creative interpretation of the theme in each of the art areas, regardless of grade division.  Each recipient receives:

·                    An expense paid trip to the National PTA convention (child and adult);

·                    An $800 arts education award;

·                    A gold-plated Reflections medallion;

·                    A certificate and letter signed by the National PTA President;

·                    Recognition in the annual PTA Reflections on line gallery; and

·                    A $200 art education award is given to the student’s local PTA.

2.         Awards of Excellence – Up to 72 children are selected (3 from each grade level from each art category).  Each recipient receives:

·                    A $200 cash award;

·                    A silver-plated Reflections medallion;

·                    A certificate and letter signed by the National PTA President; and

·                    Recognition in the annual PTA Reflections online gallery.

3.         Awards of Merit – Up 120 students are selected (5 from each grade level from each art category.  Each recipient receives:

·                    A silver-plated Reflections medallion;

·                    A certificate and letter signed by the National PTA President; and

·                    Recognition in the annual PTA Reflections online gallery.

All students whose entries reach the national level of judging receive an Honorable Mention (also receive a certificate and letter signed by the National PTA President).
